Well- my job requires me to spend a lot of time in various shopping malls around Vancouver and the lower mainland, and in my adventures I see far too many trends that are WELL past their expiration date. Here are my top 10 trends that shouldn’t be trends anymore!!
10. Poof Bangs- I believe Hillary Duff trademarked this look WAY back in her Lizzy Maguire days. I understand this is an easy way to get your bangs out of your face- but their bangs! If you didn’t want bangs you shouldn’t have cut them in the first place!!
9. Kimono Sleeve- Ok, what store can you walk into and NOT find a kimono sleeve top?? They’re everywhere from Addition Elle to Holt Renfrew. If you can find something everywhere- chances are- ITS OVERDONE! This means you should stop wearing it! No matter how flattering they are! ( and why are they ALWAYS printed and have an empire waist?!)
8. The Bejeweled GUESS purse- If you own one- throw it out. No it doesn’t go with everything…and YES you overpaid for it! They are tacky, have too much going on and I bet your 10 year old sister owns one- as well as your 55 year old mom! Thats never a good sign…
7. Spray Tan- I know its great not to get wrinkles while still getting a tan, but i believe its been taken too far…Embrace your snow white skin…add a little blush and bronzer and your good to go. Besides, whats worse then that weird blotchyness you get after your 3rd shower…YUCK!
6.Stiletto Boots with Capri’s- Oh no…this went out far too long ago! Are you a business woman trying to dress up your boring work wardrobe? Buy a colorful purse and some cute shoes…stop wearing boots with your carpi’s!!!
5. UGGS- need i say more? They’re ugly- they don’t look good with your leggings and they are meant as SLIPPERS for around the house! (and pick up your feet when you walk in them young lady!!)
4.Monochromatic Veleur Jumpsuits- Kimora Lee Simmons made a bad thing come to life with Baby Phat. This is just bad bad style. If you own one- throw it out. And if it says “Baby Phat” or “Princess” on the butt of the pants- BURN IT NOW!!!
3. Skunk Hair- Cant decide if you want to be blond or brunette? Why not be both! EWE! This was cool about 8 years ago! Now the only people that have this hair is your mom and the tacky strippers who have spray tans, and wear uggs with their veleur jumpsuits!
2. LuLuLemon head-to-toe- I know its great to support a local company- but are you really doing yoga EVERY TIME you’re caught in your LuLuLemons? As cute as these clothes are for the gym- they’re FOR THE GYM! so go out there and buy a cute pair of jeans for goodness sake!!
1. Tops and Dresses- a tunic is a tunic, NOT a dress. If its long enough to be a dress on you- its TOO big for you. Tops are meant to be worn with some form or bottoms right? I think we learned this when we learned how to dress ourselves at the age of 3. Stop admiring the fashion stylings of Mariah Carey or any of the Pussycat Dolls- they are performers- with BAD fashion. So- unless you are looking for a wardrobe malfunction similar to the likes of Britney Spears…WEAR SOME PANTS!

-low rise jeans. blech.
-”vintage” t shirts with cutesy/horny jokes. ie: “get a scrub-down at dick’s carwash”, or some shit like that.
Might I venture to say that if one doesn’t have the body for it, to not wear something midriff baring – ESPECIALLY low rise jeans that Christina Aguilera and Britney Spears are infamous for!
SOME tops can be worn as dresses ok?? You just have to have the LEGS to go with them. Not to mention a healthy body image and confidence to boot. Drag queens have all of these things, so we are allowed! Real girls….think long and hard before trying it! ;o)
listen, pcd and mariah are performers, but they have their own style, especially the Pussycat Dolls…it is better for them to have their own style than to copy someone else…
It’s all about style, not about the newest fashion…u don’t have to look trendy, you have to look cool…

How “in” are different colored purses for the spring?
Have to disagree about Uggs being slippers. Yes they make great slippers, but I’m from Australia where Uggs originated and we’ve been wearing our Uggs outdoors for years, and years, but of course not in the mud or snow or wet. They aren’t that tough.
As to whether they look good that’s personal but they certainly are warm in winter
